Of the things that causes or is an aspect of corruption in existence is shirk with Allaah سبحانه وتعالى as mentioned in some of the soorahs. From the aspects of shirk with Allaah سبحانه وتعالى are:
- Sihr – Magic which is more dangerous than shirk as it is oppression, transgression and shirk and it is destruction for the one performing the magic as well as the one affected by it.
- Belief in fortune tellers and soothsayers – they are those who claim to have knowledge of the unseen.
- Belief that the stars have the ability to affect what happens on this earth, and that whatever occurs is related to the stars. Allaah سبحانه وتعالى is the only One who arranges all the affairs of the creation.
- Obedience to Allaah's creation in disobedience to Allaah سبحانه وتعالى.
